Introducing resident #1: Loïs Richard

In Tempel we have workspaces for 24 artists, we keep one of those studios open to welcome alternating residents. Loïs Richard was our first resident.

Visual artist Loïs Richard plays with the balance between the static and the dynamic and investigates how the risoprint technique can rise above the graphic (functional) image. Her aim is to place the viewer in a state of 'constant play', in which the viewer is engaged in the dialogue that arises between them and the personalised objects in the work. Loïs strives to create a collection of objects in her installation that can be read as storytelling poetry and that can be understood in different languages, from different perspectives. Loïs studied Fine Arts at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague and Sculpture at the Rhode Island School of Design in Rhode Island (USA).

Het was een genoegen om Loïs bij ons in huis te hebben, dankjewel voor je mooie werken!
