Resident #2 – All the Things Ever Said – Jessica Tucker aka Fetter

All the Things Ever Said is a music/performance/video work-in-progress by artist and musician Jessica Tucker, aka Fetter. Expanding this project during her June residency at Tempel, on the 26th she will host a live-performed audiovisual experience in the Tempel main hall. Offered as a kind of guided journey, visitors will be taken through a series of simple exercises in observation. Looking inward and outward, we’ll settle somewhere in between, in touch with both the silence and all the things ever said in the universe.

Jessica Tucker (aka Fetter) is a media artist and electronic musician working in Amsterdam andChicago. Inspired by histories of technology as well as diverse spiritual and scientific definitions ofconsciousness, Tucker’s work playfully examines how interactions between bodies, words, andtechnologies reshape selfhood. Through electronic music, video, and sculpture, she emphasizesphysically performative use of technologies to remap media debris across virtual and touchablematerials. Like guided rituals, her performances and installations are immersive experiences thatunearth other dimensions of self.

Tucker holds an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she currently teaches inthe Film, Video, New Media, and Animation department. She previously studied at WellesleyCollege, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. She has performed and exhibited her work throughout Europe and the USA at a variety of venues, including Rewire Festival, FOAM Museum of Photography, Goethe Institut (Amsterdam), ManaContemporary Chicago, and Ausland (Berlin). She has been supported by grants and scholarshipsfrom the Chicago Artists Coalition, the Thoma Foundation, the Mondriaan Fund, the AmsterdamFund forthe Arts (AFK), and the Prins Bernhard Culture Fund
